Abstract

Background. The sociological heritage of Russian thinkers of late XIX – early XX centuries is an important element of the Russian spiritual history. The topic of the great Russian revolution has permanently been the center of attention of Russian and foreign researchers. The century of revolutionary activities is one reason to address the history of intellectual discussions of the contemporaries. The research object is revolutionary sociology of the eurasianism movement’s memebers with the Russian post-revolutionary emigration. The aim of the work is to reveal features of methodological approaches of Russian thinkers to understanding the events that significantly influenced the history of Russia and the whole humanity.
Materials and methods. To resolve the research objectives the author resorted to works by N. S. Trubetskoy, P. N. Savitsky, L. P. Karsavin, P. P. Suvchinsky, G. V. Florovsky, contemporary Russian and foreign scholars. The material was analyzed using such methods of humanities that allowed to disclose the contents and originality of sociological views on the problem of revolution.
Results. The article reveals metaphysical substantiations and theoretical-methodological approaches to revolutionary sociology of Eurasianists, reflects upon its composition, shows its diverse nature of the teaching about revolution by the mentioned Russian thinkers.
Conclusions. The topical profile of the history of the Russian sociological thought under consideration makes it possible to single out an original view on the nature of Russian revolution, to obtain a multilateral picture of the breaking period in the Russian history.
